Keeping Colorado Hockey Players in the Sport and in the State

Creating opportunities for Colorado kids to dream big.

Propel Colorado Hockey was started by parents of diverse, talented hockey players who found Colorado youth hockey to be exclusive. High costs, lower competition, and limited ice priced talented kids out of the sport. Because of a costly pay-to-play model, top Colorado youth hockey players often must leave Colorado during their teenage years to pursue their dream. Through this effort, we will create a local youth hockey experience reflective of renowned Colorado championship hockey regardless of income.

Scholarships

Many Colorado Families of top youth hockey players are faced with the challenge of high costs. As a result, around 1 in 4 of Colorado’s top local youth hockey players leave the state. Scholarships for top players will help families with increasing costs and strain on family budgets.

Development Teams

We support top level programs where top youth hockey players are trained, coached, and developed to compete on a national level. These teams are provided with tools they need to elevate competition locally. Funds for development teams create low cost, high return models for replication.

Ice Construction

Ice builds community. And in Colorado, ice is a premium. Funds provide advocacy and support for building ice sheets in local communities. This effort will help keep the cost of scarce ice down and available for all.

"Youth hockey is no longer for the best players. It's for the best players that can afford it."
